About Me

In 1977, I became one of the first women to enter the financial services industry, with Sun Life Assurance Company of Canada, in Victoria, B.C.  I am also one of the first women to be elected and serve as President of the Life Underwriter's Association of Canada (currently Advocis), Victoria, BC Chapter, in 1987.

I have amassed a wealth of diverse knowledge, experience and respect in the fields of Insurance, financial and Estate Planning, having served for many years in Senior Specialist and Directorship roles with some of Canada's leading financial services organizations.

I have held my Chartered Life Underwriter's Degree (CLU) for the past 25 years, and was recently honoured by the Institute for Advanced Financial Education in celebration of this milestone in 2023.  My desire to further specialize in serving the needs of Canada's growing elder marketplace led to the achievement of the Elder Planning Counselor (EPC) designation and Certified Professional Consultant on Aging (CPCA) designation in 2005.  Both of these credentials build on my in-depth experience and assist me in advising elders and their families on the financial, social and health aspects of living with dignity in retirement.  I am a sought after speaker on these issues at industry-related conferences and symposiums across Canada, and am a member of the Faculty for the Elder Planning Counselor (EPC) certification program.

In August of 2025, I attained the Registered Financial Consultant (RFC®) Designation from the International Association of Registered Financial Consultants (IARFC).

In addition to the attainment of my CLU, EPC, CPCA and RFC, I have 7 years of total membership with the Million Dollar Roundtable (MDRT); first year in 2001 and last year in 2014, with 2 Court of the Table (COT) memberships in 2001 and 2012.

I have continued to serve in my community for the past 20+ years as an estate planning and elder care planning resource for the donors of TB Vets Charitable Foundation.  I am the original founder of the Vancouver North Shore Chapter of CARP (A New Vision of Aging in Canada), and am working on the second edition of my handbook titled "The Referability Factor - The Art of Becoming Referable", which is planned for the end of 2024.

I am now devoting my time between growing my network in the ultimate creation of a new non-profit Association (InsureJustice.ca) and "Konnelly Consulting" - quite possibly the first of its kind "Honorarium-driven consultancy practice".
